MBF recommends that ALL medical billers in this industry stay connected.  We can learn from each other.  The medical industry is one that is rarely affected by the economy and is basically, recession-proof. 

There is plenty of business out there for all of us.  Besides, how many clients can you handle, individually? Ten? Maybe 15?  OR do you want to turn your small business into a medium sized medical billing firm with a few employees?  UP TO YOU! 

MBF does not claim to offer a medical billing class or to teach you what a CMS 1500 form is, etc.  If you wish to take a course, we, as members, can point you in the right direction, too. 

It is important that you realize that there is absolutely NO NEED to complete a medical billing class.  You will receive a “certificate," but this is NOT an accredited graduation document that demonstrates your abilities as a biller. 

What DOES demonstrate your abilities are the right tools to know how to network, market yourself, present your business and service guarantees and exactly WHAT TO DO, day one. Do you really think that your prospects care that you do or don’t have a certificate? 

We at MBF challenge anyone out there to point out WHEN they were asked for such a certificate.
